Chelsea signing Myles Lewis-Skelly from their London rivals Arsenal is something that Joe Cole is very likely to be on board with.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As of now, it does not look like the defender will be heading to Stamford Bridge<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is thought that Chelsea have turned down the opportunity to sign Lewis-Skelly<\/a> after being offered the 19-year-old.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Cole<\/a> is a huge fan of Lewis-Skelly<\/a> and explained why on a podcast back in the 2024\/25 season.<\/p>\n

Joe Cole loves Myles Lewis-Skelly\u2019s \u2018feistiness\u2019 and \u2018attitude\u2019<\/h2>\n

Cole likes Lewis-Skelly\u2019s \u201cfeistiness\u201d, which he displayed after copying Erling Haaland\u2019s celebration during one match between Arsenal and Manchester City.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the England international on The Dressing Room Podcast<\/a> last year, Cole said: \u201cMyles Lewis-Skelly, who I think is brilliant, I love his feistiness, his attitude. He looks like a top player. But he\u2019s done the Erling Haaland celebration! That\u2019s cold. He knew what he was doing\u2026 that\u2019s cold.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Cole is a fan of Lewis-Skelly\u2019s feistiness, that is not the only thing that he would have brought to Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

Lewis-Skelly is a strong and physical footballer who can play in more than one position. The Arsenal star has spent the majority of his career operating in the left-back role, but he is also very comfortable in midfield.<\/p>\n

In fact, Lewis-Skelly started there for Arsenal in last season\u2019s Champions League<\/a> final against Paris Saint-Germain.<\/p>\n

Much to the delight of Chelsea<\/a> supporters, the Gunners lost on penalties that night, but Lewis-Skelly still managed to put in a performance that he can be proud of. <\/p>\n

The Arsenal academy product stood his ground despite having to go up against a midfield trio of Vitinha, Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz. During the 2025\/26 campaign, there was not a better engine room on the planet.<\/p>\n

That did not faze Lewis-Skelly, though, who was brave in the middle of the park and did not let the occasion get to him.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, Chelsea have also been linked with Ruiz<\/a> recently, but whether they decide to bring in another midfielder or not could hinge on the future of Enzo Fernandez.<\/p>\n
