New Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has been backed well in the transfer market, but supporters still believe there would be a place for one of their underrated club legends in the side.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alonso<\/a> has overseen the likes of Morgan Rogers<\/a>, Maxence Lacroix<\/a> and Marco Palestra<\/a> come through the door, as well as experienced heads in Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson.<\/p>\n

It looks as if the club are backing the manager to play in the back three system he used to so much success when he was in charge of Bayer Leverkusen.<\/p>\n

Chelsea fans think Nemanja Matic would perfectly suit Xabi Alonso\u2019s side<\/h2>\n

The Blues won the league with these foundations during Antonio Conte\u2019s time in charge, when the midfield options at the club included N\u2019golo Kante<\/a>, Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While the former duo are seen as club legends, Matic\u2019s time at Stamford Bridge is often underrated, although supporters took to social media to state they were convinced he would be perfect for Alonso\u2019s Chelsea.<\/p>\n

One user said: \u201cWe so badly need this profile man.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another added: \u201cWe miss this Matic profile in our midfield.\u201d<\/p>\n

A third stated: \u201cMan you really had to be there to truly understand how much Matic changed our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally, one user said: \u201cI miss Matic, he is so underrated today.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moises Caicedo has said on plenty of occasions he idolises Kante<\/a>, however up to now Chelsea have not brought in a tall, physical presence to play alongside him like Matic.<\/p>\n

Chelsea facing nervous midfield wait<\/h2>\n

The Blues will ideally go into the first game of the Premier League season with Enzo Fernandez<\/a> alongside him, however it remains to be seen if he actually stays at the club this summer.<\/p>\n

The Argentine has pushed for an exit throughout the transfer window, however up to now Chelsea have not had any actual bids come in.<\/p>\n

Manchester City are currently the rival side leading the way with interest. Enzo Maresca is keen to continue their strong relationship from West London.<\/p>\n

Even though Fernandez is in talks with the Premier League side<\/a>, Chelsea are standing firm on their \u00a3120m valuation of the midfielder at this stage.<\/p>\n
