Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly and Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo have both been in the headlines lately.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Boehly could sell his stake<\/a> in Chelsea<\/a> to Clearlake Capital, which is why he is in the news right now.<\/p>\n

As for Ronaldo<\/a>, the Al-Nassr forward has hinted that he could retire from football very soon.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, these two figures in the world of football almost crossed paths more than four years ago.<\/p>\n

Thomas Tuchel blocked Todd Boehly\u2019s move for Cristiano Ronaldo<\/h2>\n

In 2022, Chelsea, or rather Boehly, had some interest in signing Ronaldo<\/a>, who was still at Manchester United at the time. However, former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel<\/a> did not seem to be on board.<\/p>\n

According to The Telegraph<\/a>, Boehly<\/a> was intrigued by the prospect of making a move for Ronaldo, but after talks with Tuchel, he opted against submitting an offer for the 41-year-old.<\/p>\n

It is thought that Tuchel wanted the focus to be on his team and not an individual, while the German was also very happy with the arrival of Raheem Sterling.<\/p>\n

Sterling joined from Manchester City that summer to strengthen Chelsea\u2019s attack, but he proved to be a disaster in the end.<\/p>\n

There is no doubt that Chelsea would have got much more out of Ronaldo despite his age, but the finances would probably not have worked out.<\/p>\n

Chelsea fans are quite happy with the attack they have right now, though it still needs to be tested as a unit.<\/p>\n

They could begin the season with a front three of Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and new signing Morgan Rogers.<\/p>\n

Xabi Alonso hinted that he could use Palmer as No.8<\/a>, but you would expect his main position to be as a No.10 or right winger.<\/p>\n

Boehly and Clearlake\u2019s money was used to put that attack together, but it looks like the former may not be an investor at Chelsea for much longer. <\/p>\n
