Diego Moreira made just one appearance for Chelsea during his time at the club, but his recent transfer to AC Milan is set to bank the Blues yet more money.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Moreira<\/a> was one of the first youngsters brought in by the club under the new ownership, and was handed his debut by Mauricio Pochettino<\/a> in the EFL Cup against AFC WimbLEdon.<\/p>\n

That appearance lasted just 45 minutes though, and he quickly went out on loan to Lyon for the season before joining Strasbourg permanently.<\/p>\n

With the Ligue 1 side, he has developed into a brilliant wide option, who is equally comfortable playing as a wing-back.<\/p>\n

This attracted AC Milan enough to spend \u00a361m on the Belgian, lightyears away from the fee that Chelsea<\/a> recouped when they originally sold him.<\/p>\n

However, as per Peter Rutzler<\/a>, the Blues are expected to bank at least five million euros from a sell-on clause they inserted in the deal.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cChelsea have benefitted from a sell-on of this deal for Diego Moreira, who has joined AC Milan from Strasbourg. Record sale expected to be worth \u20ac71m for French club. (\u20ac51m guaranteed, plus \u20ac16m add-ons. Strasbourg\u2019s sell-on then has a minimum guaranteed return of ~\u20ac5m).\u201d<\/p>\n

Moreira has become Strasbourg\u2019s biggest sale in history, overtaking Valentin Barco following his move to Chelsea this summer.<\/p>\n

Diego Moreira would suit the current Chelsea squad perfectly<\/h2>\n

Moreira\u2019s time at Stamford Bridge came too early in his career, with him not showing his best when he was at the club.<\/p>\n

Ironically, Xabi Alonso\u2019s system that he is bringing to Stamford Bridge looks like it could suit him perfectly.<\/p>\n

The Spaniard is currently in the process of converting Pedro Neto to play as a wing-back, but Moreira has already spent plenty of time making that transition himself.<\/p>\n

There is also no security over the Portugal international staying in West London, with their interest from Al Hilal in signing Neto before the transfer window closes.<\/p>\n
