Chelsea made it clear that Enzo Fernandez would only move to Manchester City before last Friday for a fee of \u00a3120m, and now if he moves this summer it could be for even more than that.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many expected Fernandez<\/a> to leave Chelsea<\/a> this season, however with just days until the new Premier League season gets underway,<\/p>\n

The Blues set City a deadline of 5pm last Friday to meet their valuation, however did not hear of any meaningful offer coming their way.<\/p>\n

Chelsea have played their hand perfectly with Enzo Fernandez<\/h2>\n

This has not put an end to Enzo Maresca\u2019s<\/a> side\u2019s interest though, and as the window counts down, they are getting more desperate in their quest to replace Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders.<\/p>\n

Flashscore<\/a> have stated however that if City remain interested, Chelsea feel they can continue to drive the price higher as the window gets closer to shutting.<\/p>\n

Chelsea need to be careful with running up Fernandez price<\/h2>\n

Banking a potential Premier League record fee will no doubt sound great to those who crunch the numbers at Stamford Bridge, however they need to be wary of what goes on in the games too.<\/p>\n

Selling Fernandez now would give the Blues very little chance of finding a suitable replacement in time, with other clubs unlikely to want to part ways with their key men.<\/p>\n

Adam Wharton<\/a> and Alex Scott<\/a> have both been mentioned as potential targets should Chelsea part ways with Fernandez, however Crystal Palace and Bournemouth know how important their players are.<\/p>\n

It isn\u2019t believed that Chelsea need a sale of that magnitude this summer, and if that is the case they should not be looking to sell the Argentine in this window.<\/p>\n
