Adam Wharton\u2019s future at Crystal Palace has just become a whole lot clearer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chelsea\u2019s price tag remains unknown for Enzo Fernandez after Manchester City failed to meet his deadline. The 25-year-old Argentine World Cup winner is reported to be open to a move, but Xabi Alonso wants to keep him and he also wouldn\u2019t be against staying. <\/p>\n

Should Fernandez force a late exit this summer, Chelsea have earmarked Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton<\/a> as a potential replacement. <\/p>\n

Palace, however, are desperate to keep hold of the 22-year-old England international and have set a steep \u00a378 million price tag of their own to ward off top-flight suitors.<\/p>\n

Pierre Sage claims Adam Wharton is going nowhere<\/h2>\n

Ahead of Crystal Palace\u2019s Premier League opener, Pierre Sage has emphasised that Adam Wharton<\/a> will not leave Palace this summer.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cWe sold big players and now I think it\u2019s not the moment to do that. Adam can play at a big club but I think one year with us, one year with a new dynamic, will be good for him and we need him\u201d.<\/p>\n

Of course, it will come down to the desire of the player at the end of the day if he wants to seek a move and force his way out, but Wharton doesn\u2019t seem like the kind of guy to do that. <\/p>\n

Chelsea shouldn\u2019t worry about Enzo Fernandez<\/h2>\n

Enzo Fernandez officially locked in Chelsea\u2019s iconic number 8 shirt for the campaign, shutting down any remaining transfer rumors and taking full ownership of the midfield under Xabi Alonso.<\/p>\n

The squad number unveil brought a shake-up across the dressing room. One of the biggest clues was Liam Delap and Tosin Adarabioyo having their numbers from last season stripped ahead of their exits, which is a positive when you see Fernandez keep his shirt. <\/p>\n

It does seem now as if Manchester City\u2019s only hope is to pay above the odds, which seems extremely unlikely given the fact that Enzo Maresca was reluctant to pay the \u00a3120 million. <\/p>\n
