Tottenham are closing in on signing Manchester City pair Savinho and Omar Marmoush.<\/p>\n
Spurs have agreed an \u00a385m deal for Savinho, which will see them pay an initial \u00a375m for the Brazil international, with a further \u00a310m available in add-ons.<\/p>\n
It is understood that \u00a35m of the potential bonuses are effectively guaranteed, meaning City could receive at least \u00a380m from the deal.<\/p>\n
The 22-year-old is scheduled to have a medical with Tottenham on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Spurs are also very close to agreeing a deal for City forward Marmoush, with advanced negotiations ongoing and progressing in the right direction.<\/p>\n
It is understood the Egypt international is on board with the move to north London.<\/p>\n

They spent \u00a3185m on two midfielders, Sandro Tonali <\/strong>and Matheus Fernandes, <\/strong>from Newcastle <\/strong>and West Ham <\/strong>respectively.<\/p>\n Jan Paul van Hecke <\/strong>joined from Brighton <\/strong>for \u00a352m to replace Cristian Romero<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Marcos Senesi<\/strong>, Andy Robertson<\/strong> and Martin Dubravka<\/strong> all arrived on free transfers.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Savinho’s potential sale would be a club record for Man City, surpassing Julian Alvarez’s \u00a382m move to Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2024.<\/p>\n Savinho, who has played a bit-part role since joining Manchester City in 2024, started only seven of his 24 Premier League appearances last season, in which he scored once and set up two goals.<\/p>\n At the start of the transfer window, Sky Sports News’ <\/em>Michael Bridge <\/strong>explained how Spurs are able to spend big this summer…<\/p>\n “We’re told there are absolutely no concerns about falling foul of the Premier League’s financial rules.<\/p>\n “The club is in great financial health after qualifying for Europe in 18 of the last 20 seasons. The revenue driven by the stadium is huge: boxing, concerts, NFL games – you name it.<\/p>\n “In fact, in the Deloitte Money League, the rankings show that Tottenham Hotspur have leapfrogged Chelsea to become the ninth richest club in the world with annual revenues of \u00a3549.2m.<\/p>\n “On top of that, Spurs are one of the clubs to benefit most from the Premier League’s shift to squad cost ratio from PSR, which has just come into effect. But the reason we’re seeing Spurs spend so much is a shift in strategy under new leadership.<\/p>\n “Daniel Levy left at the start of last season, and there’s a real desire to spend the money to dine at the very top table.<\/p>\n “Now the new leadership and the owners promised fans, after avoiding relegation on the final day, that they would spend the club’s revenue on the first team, and they are delivering on that.”<\/p>\n Manchester City<\/strong> boss Enzo Maresca <\/strong>has admitted that Savinho <\/strong>had made it clear all summer that he wanted to leave the Etihad.<\/p>\n Maresca prepares for a first season in charge of City following the departure of Pep Guardiola, who oversaw the club’s most successful period over nine years.<\/p>\n In preparation, Maresca has seen the likes of Ballon d’Or and World Cup-winning midfielder Rodri join Barcelona, while an agreement is in place to see Savinho <\/strong>move to Tottenham, with Omar Marmoush <\/strong>also linked to the north London club.<\/p>\n Asked whether he tried to convince Rodri to stay, Maresca said:<\/p>\n “It is quite clear when the player wants to leave, then it is complicated to convince them to stay.<\/p>\n “It happened with Rodri and the same thing is happening with Savinho.<\/p>\n “Since day one, he has asked me that he wants to leave. So now we are waiting. But it’s complicated.<\/p>\n “When the player is thinking that they need a new challenge, or they want to change because they probably want to go back to Spain, or they want to play more minutes or for a different reason. It becomes complicated then to convince them to stay.”<\/p>\n Sky Sports News’ Ben Ransom<\/strong>:<\/em><\/p>\n “Both players [Savinho and Marmoush] are essentially surplus to requirements at Manchester City. It’s been pretty apparent through the summer. Enzo Maresca has said that in the case of both players, they are very much entitled to stay and fight for their first-team place.<\/p>\n “But equally he understands, a bit like James Trafford, when a player wants to play first-team football and they’re not guaranteed the starting shirt, then the club, if they receive an offer that’s acceptable, will not stand in their way. That applies to both players.<\/p>\n “City would need to replace these players. They would definitely, I’d say, have to replace one. They would like to and would aim to replace two.<\/p>\n “But the transfer window is closing in less than a fortnight.
