Enzo Fernandez\u2019s future continues to hang over Chelsea as the transfer deadline approaches.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Enzo Fernandez<\/a> dominated headlines this summer following a deep World Cup run with Argentina and intense transfer speculation linking him with a move to Manchester City. <\/p>\n

After returning late to pre-season, the midfielder started on the bench for Xabi Alonso\u2019s opening Premier League clash against Fulham. Introduced in the 64th minute to replace Romeo Lavia, Fernandez endured a hostile reception as Fulham fans targeted him with reignited Falklands chants. <\/p>\n

On the pitch, Fernandez offered a steady presence over his 26-minute cameo<\/a>, completing 12 of his 16 passes to help Chelsea see out a hard-fought 3\u20132 victory at Craven Cottage.<\/p>\n

Xabi Alonso casts doubt over Enzo Fernandez\u2019s future<\/h2>\n

Fabrizio Romano issued an update on the Enzo Fernandez situation ahead of Chelsea\u2019s win over Fulham.<\/p>\n

Manchester City plan to try again for Enzo Fernandez as a top target wanted by Enzo Maresca.<\/p>\n

The Citizens are in daily club-to-club contact with Enzo\u2019s camp, but Chelsea could only consider to sell if they can improve their squad.<\/p>\n

And speaking in the wake of Chelsea\u2019s Premier League opener, Alonso was also hesitant. <\/p>\n
