Chelsea\u2019s debutants enjoyed a fine first outing in blue during their 3-2 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage, with Maxence Lacroix proving his worth before a ball was kicked.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The devastating front three of Cole Palmer<\/a>, Morgan Rogers<\/a> and Joao Pedro<\/a> all found the net, with Chelsea\u2019s firepower looking a force to be reckoned with this season.<\/p>\n

Lacroix<\/a> also got involved in the action in the final third, showing brilliant composure to tee up Rogers to give Chelsea the lead at 2-1.<\/p>\n

Maxence Lacroix shows leadership before kick-off of Chelsea 3-2 Fulham<\/h2>\n

The Blues were shaky at times at the back, but the Frenchman brought some composure and leadership that were the two main reasons that supporters were so pleased to see him signed.<\/p>\n

Even before a ball was kicked, as club captain Reece James<\/a> carried out his final team talk on the pitch, Lacroix showed his leadership skills there and then by giving his own rousing speech, which was met by applause and roars from his teammates.<\/p>\n

James has frequently been seen as a captain who leads by example, and one who would benefit from having vocal figures around him.<\/p>\n

Lacroix is going to be one of those figures, and the way the rest of the squad listened and reacted to his words was a really strong sign for the future.<\/p>\n

Lacroix\u2019s brilliant stats vs Fulham<\/h2>\n

While Robert Sanchez struggled behind him<\/a> and Levi Colwill didn\u2019t have his best game, Lacroix\u2019s calmness under pressure was a massive factor in Chelsea holding on for all three points.<\/p>\n

The Frenchman made five tackles, including two as the last man, with four clearances as Fulham continued to threaten with crosses into the box.<\/p>\n

Lacroix also showed his immense ability on the ball too, making eight line-breaking passes, and only misplacing three passes in total.<\/p>\n

Chelsea have been crying out for a leader at the back since the departure of Thiago Silva, and look to have finally achieved this with the addition of Lacroix.<\/p>\n
