Despite a goal and threatening performance in his first game as a Chelsea player, Morgan Rogers was not included in the Team of the Week for the opening weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It took Rogers<\/a> less than 45 minutes to find the net in the 2026\/27 season, latching on to a Maxence Lacroix cutback after good work from Cole Palmer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Palmer was also on the scoresheet in the second half, with the Blues getting off to the best possible start when Joao Pedro<\/a> found the net after just 31 seconds.<\/p>\n

Morgan Rogers snubbed from Premier League Team of the Week<\/h2>\n

Palmer was untouchable all game, and was rightfully included in WhoScored\u2019s<\/a> Team of the Week from Matchday One as the highest-rated player.<\/p>\n

He was joined by Pedro, who picked up the assist for Palmer\u2019s goal as Chelsea\u2019s front three lived up to expectations in their first outing together.<\/p>\n

As well as Rogers, there was also no place in the side for Lacroix<\/a>, who picked up an assist as well as put in a dominant performance at the back too.<\/p>\n

Rogers set a record for the most chances created<\/a> by a player on their Premier League debut, and any fears that he may not instantly deliver because of his price tag were quickly put to bed.<\/p>\n

It is expected the England international will be rested when the Blues quickly return to action with the EFL Cup tie against Luton Town.<\/p>\n

The likes of Estevao Willian<\/a> and Geovany Quenda are waiting in the wings to make an impression on Xabi Alonso against lower-league opposition.<\/p>\n

The front three of Palmer, Rogers and Pedro already have a combined five Premier League goals and assists to their name so far this season, and will be surely picked again when the Premier League returns with a clash against Brighton.<\/p>\n
