Robert Sanchez was under the microscope following Chelsea\u2019s opening-day victory in the Premier League against Fulham, and Blues fans have now chosen who they want to be his replacement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All eyes were on Sanchez<\/a> for both of Fulham\u2019s goals in the 3-2 thriller at Craven Cottage, with him at fault for both moments that got their opponents back into the game.<\/p>\n

Xabi Alonso tried not to pile the blame on the Spaniard<\/a> after the match, but will surely have come to the conclusion that they cannot have ambitions of winning the Premier League with Sanchez in goal.<\/p>\n

Chelsea fans choose their replacement for Robert Sanchez<\/h2>\n

The Chelsea Chronicle<\/strong> asked Blues supporters who they would like to be their starting goalkeeper for the rest of the season on TalkingPoints, with a variety of names being mentioned.<\/p>\n

Despite the amount of candidates, Aston Villa\u2019s Emi Martinez<\/a> continued to crop up as a popular option amongst supporters.<\/p>\n

Enough is enough! It\u2019s time to replace Robert Sanchez, but who should Chelsea sign? \ud83d\ude24<\/h3>\n

One user said: \u201cGo and get Emi Martinez\u2026 he\u2019d fit the character of Chelsea.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another added: \u201cFor a short-term solution, Martinez is an obvious choice. His confidence would quickly filter through the team and then allow Penders to settle in and get a few cup games under his belt.\u201d<\/p>\n

A third stated: \u201cEmi Martinez or Diogo Costa. Or at least try Penders, but Sanchez should not be allowed in goal for Chelsea again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally, one user said: \u201cI think Martinez for one or two seasons, then maybe Trafford.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chelsea\u2019s chances of signing Emi Martinez<\/h2>\n

Martinez is seemingly out of the plans at Aston Villa after they have completed a deal to sign Zion Suzuki this summer.<\/p>\n

Despite being available for a very achievable fee, Chelsea are not currently expected to sign the goalkeeper<\/a> before the transfer window comes to an end.<\/p>\n

It looks as if there are still going to be chances for Sanchez, however the emergence of Mike Penders<\/a> as a genuine first team option could see him lose his place either way.<\/p>\n

The youngster is expected to start the club\u2019s second round EFL Cup tie against Luton Town at Stamford Bridge on Thursday.<\/p>\n
