Xabi Alonso has revealed the latest on Levi Colwill and Geovany Quenda after their absence for the Carabao Cup clash with Luton Town.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Geovany Quenda\u2019s move to Chelsea<\/a> this summer felt like a real coup. After tearing it up at Sporting CP last season with six goals and some impressive European performances, he didn\u2019t miss a beat. <\/p>\n

He carried that spark straight into pre-season, looking sharp on the wing and giving the attack some real flair. However, he\u2019s only had eight minutes of action in the opening Premier League game.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Levi Colwill is back anchoring the defense. After a tough knee injury wiped out most of last year, he put in the work over pre-season and reclaimed his spot at the heart of the backline. <\/p>\n

However, both players missed the Carabao Cup win over Luton Town. <\/p>\n

Xabi Alonso shares Levi Colwill and Geovany Quenda\u2019s situation<\/h2>\n

Xabi Alonso addressed any concerns involving Levi Colwill<\/a> and Geovany Quenda<\/a> after their absence against Luton Town, revealing that he wants to be careful with the pair.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cWith Levi, after his injury last season, he is still in a period where he has to take the right steps, we don\u2019t want to push him too much. We want to make sure [his body] doesn\u2019t get stressed and that he feels comfortable and well. It\u2019s the same with Geo as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

It makes sense given the injury histories of both players, especially against a side like Luton, who are much easier opposition compared to a Premier League opponent. <\/p>\n

Moises Caicedo could also return soon<\/h2>\n

Alonso also gave an update on Moises Caicedo, who suffered a minor fitness setback in training.<\/p>\n

However, it won\u2019t be long until he\u2019s back in action.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is hopefully training [on Friday] and we are hopeful that he can be involved [against Brighton]. But we need to check. No decision has been made.\u201d<\/p>\n
