Former Chelsea winger Diego Moreira has enjoyed a big-money move this summer to AC Milan, although the nature of the deal has impacted how the Blues conduct player sales since.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After playing just 45 minutes at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea<\/a> moved Moreira<\/a> on to Strasbourg on a permanent basis, where he developed his game greatly.<\/p>\n

He impressed in particular in the wing-back position, and convinced Milan to take a chance on him in a deal where Chelsea received a significant sell-on fee<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Chelsea have changed their transfer strategy after Diego Moreira mistake<\/h2>\n

However, given the quality player he has now become, and Xabi Alonso\u2019s<\/a> desire to play a back-three, there may have been a desire to bring him back to the club if they had a buy-back clause included.<\/p>\n

It looks as if the Blues have decided that they want to learn from this mistake with their latest dealings with Strasbourg.<\/p>\n

Omari Kellyman<\/a> has joined the Ligue 1 club on a permanent basis, after he spent last season on loan at Cardiff City.<\/p>\n

Chelsea have included a buy-back clause in that deal, meaning if he progresses to become a top-quality player they have the right to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

Kellyman didn\u2019t feature for the first team at any stage during his tenure here, however he did struggle greatly with various injury problems.<\/p>\n

Chelsea made a significant loss on Kellyman<\/a>, however it has to be said that signing him also saw Ian Maatsen make the move the other way for a fee of around \u00a340m.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen if he develops into a player who Chelsea will want in their first team squad in the future, but at least the club have put themselves in a position where they can pounce first.<\/p>\n

They were unable to do this with Moreira, but at least it looks like the club have learned their lesson when it comes to not including the appropriate clauses.<\/p>\n
