Chelsea fans were thrilled with the debut of Emi Martinez in their 4-3 win over Brighton, with some even labelling him as the best signing made this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Martinez<\/a> was straight in the starting side at Stamford Bridge, replacing Robert Sanchez<\/a> as he looks set for a move away before Tuesday\u2019s deadline.<\/p>\n

Despite conceding three goals, Chelsea have the Argentine to thank for keeping them in the game<\/a> in the second half, as Brighton threatened a remarkable comeback.<\/p>\n

Chelsea fans react to Emi Martinez\u2019s debut vs Brighton<\/h2>\n

We asked Blues supporters on TalkingPoints<\/a> what they made of the goalkeeper\u2019s debut, and it hasn\u2019t taken them long to warm to their new shot stopper.<\/p>\n

One user said: \u201cWithout sounding too dramatic\u2026 I think this could be the signing of the summer. Courtois is the last decent keeper Chelsea have had, this one could be huge\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Another claimed: \u201cLove the signing, think It was a long time coming. But I wouldn\u2019t say It moves them into title contention, definitely should finish top 5 though.\u201d<\/p>\n

A third stated: \u201cAlways said Chelsea will never win the league with Sanchez in goal. Martinez is a massive upgrade. Add his arrival to playing just once a week, Chelsea have a huge chance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another TalkingPoints user added: \u201cGenuine signing of the summer, he makes Chelsea title challengers and you can\u2019t help but think they might have conceded 5\/6 with Sanchez today.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally, one user said: \u201cReally loved how he got the crowd behind us when we were holding on. Some important saves too. A definite upgrade and our best chance of closing the gap to Arsenal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Martinez set to be busy vs Arsenal next week<\/h2>\n

Chelsea\u2019s defending will need to drastically improve to give the Argentine more protection when they face Arsenal next week, with them already facing a potential midfield crisis before that game.<\/p>\n

There is no certainty over whether Enzo Fernandez<\/a> will remain at the club past Tuesday\u2019s transfer deadline, and now there is a new issue when it comes to Moises Caicedo\u2019s<\/a> fitness.<\/p>\n

The Ecuadorian was forced off injured after coming off the bench against Brighton, and Xabi Alonso was uncertain as to how serious the issue was<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He will be a massive miss if he is unavailable at the Emirates, a game where Martinez can expect to be busy again between the sticks.<\/p>\n
