The summer transfer window ended without an agreement between Monaco and Chelsea for midfielder Lamine Camara, just when it looked like it would happen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In one of the most bizarre transfer sagas in recent history, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/tag\/lamine-camara\/\">Camara<\/a> was joining <a href=\"http:\/\/thechelseachronicle.com\/club\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Chelsea<\/a> only for Monaco to scrap the deal at the last moment. In the final moments, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/transfer-news\/finally-chelsea-complete-lamine-camara-deal-as-fabrizio-romano-delivers-shock-news\/\">Chelsea agreed a \u00a347m fee<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea had a written agreement from Monaco, but Camara\u2019s move to <a href=\"http:\/\/thechelseachronicle.com\/club\/stadium\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Stamford Bridge<\/a> was directly tied to Monaco needing a big sale and Folarin Balogun\u2019s move to Everton. Monaco then pulled the plug.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed that Monaco felt Balogun was going to Everton, and it allowed them to block a move for Camara, but neither have gone through. Amid all that, Monaco also received a call from Liverpool.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-liverpool-s-call-to-monaco-may-have-played-role-in-camara-block\">Liverpool\u2019s call to Monaco may have played role in Camara block<\/h2>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/talkSPORT\/status\/2094915649042592093\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Ben Jacobs,<\/a> Monaco decided to block Camara\u2019s move with the belief Balogun was joining Everton. Of course, it has emerged that Balogun has turned down a move to Everton at the last minute.<\/p>\n<p>It has backfired on Monaco, who have failed to sell either player when one sale was required. To say to Monaco, \u2018wait\u2019. Liverpool don\u2019t want Camara now; they didn\u2019t explore it. Alexis Mac Allister is there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are not saying Liverpool interfered in the deal with Chelsea, but Liverpool said, \u2018if you don\u2019t get your move, we will be back for you in 2027\u2019. That is a factor, because Monaco feel they can get \u20ac70m [\u00a360m].<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMonaco told Chelsea all day the price was \u20ac70m [\u00a360m]. They needed a sale, and without the Balogun money, Monaco felt they had to reduce it. Jordan Henderson is still recovering from the arm injury suffered at the World Cup. Valentin Barco is yet to start a Premier League game.<\/p>\n<p>Reece James is no stranger to injury, and Romeo Lavia is yet to complete 90 minutes competitively for Chelsea. With just one game a week and no Europe, it might be alright.
