{"id":3698,"date":"2026-09-08T06:35:50","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T06:35:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/footballars.xyz\/?p=3698"},"modified":"2026-09-08T06:35:50","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T06:35:50","slug":"chelsea-need-to-be-extra-careful-after-moises-caicedo-injury-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/footballars.xyz\/?p=3698","title":{"rendered":"Chelsea need to be extra careful after Moises Caicedo injury update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"post-384255\">\n<p><strong>Moises Caicedo missed Chelsea\u2019s 2-1 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates last weekend because of an injury.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/news\/what-chelsea-chiefs-are-telling-xabi-alonso-to-do-with-moises-caicedo-as-injury-update-emerges\/\">Caicedo was a doubt heading into the game<\/a>, and in the end, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/tag\/xabi-alonso\/\">Xabi Alonso<\/a> decided not to take any risks with the midfielder.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-grvmedia-grv-video GRVMultiVideo\"\/>\n<p>The good news is that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/tag\/moises-caicedo\/\">Caicedo<\/a> could be back for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/club\/\">Chelsea\u2019s<\/a> next Premier League match against Hull City. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/articles\/cgrvx1jxrv0o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">BBC Sport<\/a>, there is hope that Caicedo will be available for that fixture.<\/p>\n<p>However, Alonso needs to be really careful here. (Photo by Chelsea Football Club\/Chelsea FC via Getty Images)\">Photo by Chelsea Football Club\/Chelsea FC via Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Chelsea were sliced open in the middle of the park way too often, which would not have happened with Caicedo on the pitch, or at least not as frequently.<\/p>\n<p>The Ecuador international reads the game very well and is extremely effective at breaking down attacks with his tackling and intercepting ability.<\/p>\n<p>James is more than capable of playing in midfield, but his awareness in that area of the pitch is not always there, and that was the case against Arsenal.<\/p>\n<p>The Chelsea captain was eventually joined by Malo Gusto in the engine room, another right-back. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/columnist\/xabi-alonso-has-already-made-one-selection-no-one-wants-to-see-again-at-chelsea\/\">Gusto in midfield is not something Chelsea fans want to see<\/a>, but Alonso must be cautious and avoid gambling with Caicedo\u2019s fitness again.<\/p>\n<p>Hull City have started the season well, but Chelsea should have enough to beat them at home without Caicedo.
