Xabi Alonso has made a brilliant initial impression as manager. For the first time in a while, Chelsea have a manager in the hotseat that can handle the pressure of being Blues boss. He has the aura.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s why Liam Rosenior struggled; it\u2019s why Graham Potter failed. BlueCo and Behdad Eghbali finally came to the realisation that a manager with the aura of Alonso<\/a> is required to have any success at Chelsea<\/a>.<\/p>\n

How can Xabi Alonso get Estevao Willian into the side? \ud83e\udd14<\/h3>\n

The Brazilian has seen very little action under his new manager\u2026<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

But Alonso is ruthless. He has already had to offload an army of players this summer, and more are likely to follow. Especially if he continues to use the 3-4-2-1 system he is currently deploying in West London.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s already been reported that Estevao is worried about his long-term future at Chelsea<\/a>, with the Brazilian unwilling to start playing as a wing-back. Don Hutchison urged Liverpool to sign Estevao<\/a> amid the noise.<\/p>\n

Beware Chelsea\u2019s wingers: Alonso isn\u2019t going to play you<\/h2>\n

Estevao has been afforded 16 minutes despite the impact the former Palmeiras winger can have. He almost scored a stunning equaliser against Arsenal, only for the league\u2019s best \u2013 David Raya \u2013 to save it.<\/p>\n

That is what Estevao can do. He remains a Chelsea \u2018untouchable\u2019<\/a>, but while there is no room for a wide man in Alonso\u2019s side, why would he stay? We wrote how Estevao\u2019s concerns could become infectious<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, reports<\/a> say Jamie Gittens has asked to leave. He\u2019s played even less than Estevao and Roma tried to sign him on the final day of the window, but Chelsea would only consider selling Gittens permanently.<\/p>\n

Geovany Quenda, Jesse Derry, Ryan Kavuma-McQueen\u2026<\/h2>\n

Ultimately, if you are a winger that is unable to operate as a full-back or provide cover as a 10, you are not going to get regular game time under Alonso at Chelsea. Quenda has not yet made his debut.<\/p>\n

Jesse Derry\u2019s game time on loan at Sporting has gone down, but he will be increasingly worried about his Chelsea exposure back home. Ryan Kavuma-McQueen has been on fire, on loan with Portsmouth.<\/p>\n

But the duel-winning monster is not going to get a chance at Chelsea if Alonso sticks with his current system. Players need to show their versatility to stand any chance of being a winger in Alonso\u2019s squad.<\/p>\n

Even if their name is Estevao or Gittens, they won\u2019t get the game time they desire in a Chelsea shirt under Alonso. If it wasn\u2019t clear already, Alonso is ruthless and needs his entire squad to buy into his methods.<\/p>\n

Failing that, they\u2019ll be shown the door. <\/p>\n
