Estevao Willian did not have the outing he would have hoped for when he was handed a start for Chelsea against Leeds in the EFL Cup against Leeds United.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Estevao<\/a> has been forced to be patient for his opportunities this season after the excellent form the starting front three have shown.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian started at Stamford Bridge against, but was subbed off after struggling to make an impact<\/a> and Chelsea needing to turn the game around late on.<\/p>\n

Chelsea to offer Estevao a new contract<\/h2>\n

Morgan Rogers\u2019 three assists<\/a> and Cole Palmer\u2019s two goals helped them advance to the next round, however piled more doubt over where Estevao is going to feature in the upcoming games.<\/p>\n

Despite a disappointing start to the campaign, it is clear that Chelsea still see the Brazil international as an important player, so much so that they are prepared to offer him a new contract at the club.<\/p>\n

This is as per Flashscore<\/a>, who say the club still have faith in the youngster, while there are no indications that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge either.<\/p>\n

Chelsea fans have asked to see more of Estevao<\/a> in the early stages of this season, after he came on and looked threatening in their only defeat of the season against Arsenal.<\/p>\n

Estevao could force Xabi Alonso into formation change<\/h2>\n

Bringing him into the starting side would likely force Xabi Alonso into a change of formation, and a move away from the back three he has used so far this season.<\/p>\n

This would ask more questions of a defence and midfield which has already conceded 11 goals in all competitions, but add more firepower to an attack which has notched up 16 strikes.<\/p>\n

A match against Hull City, where the opposition are expected to sit in a low block for large portions of the game, could be the perfect opportunity to trial the front four to play together for the first time.<\/p>\n

However, the newly-promoted side cannot be underestimated. They currently sit third in the league, with a win under their belt already against Manchester United.<\/p>\n
