Cole Palmer was unable to score in Chelsea\u2019s 2-2 draw with Hull City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the attacking midfielder still put in a good performance. Without him, Xabi Alonso\u2019s<\/a> side would have lost the game.<\/p>\n

It was Palmer\u2019s<\/a> ball across the box that Joao Pedro managed to convert to make the score 2-2 and ensure that the points were shared.<\/p>\n

Despite failing to score himself, Palmer should be pleased with what he was able to do against Sergej Jakirovic\u2019s team.<\/p>\n

Cole Palmer created several chances against Hull\u2019s low block<\/h2>\n

Chelsea<\/a> went into the game knowing that Hull had not conceded a goal in the Premier League yet. They also would have been fully aware of the Tigers\u2019 plan to play in a low block, which is what most visitors to Stamford Bridge do.<\/p>\n

The Blues can find low blocks difficult to break down, but that was not the case on Saturday, largely thanks to Palmer.<\/p>\n

It took Morgan Rogers just seven minutes to breach Hull\u2019s defence and fire past goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis.<\/p>\n

As already mentioned, it was Palmer who set up Pedro for Chelsea\u2019s second, but the 24-year-old also created two big chances and made three key passes, according to Sofascore<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is very promising, given how solid Hull\u2019s defence has been this season and the fact that Chelsea will have to face more low blocks as the campaign goes on.<\/p>\n

Jakirovic thought Emiliano Martinez was Chelsea\u2019s best player<\/a>, but many will feel that it was Palmer.<\/p>\n

In attack, Palmer and the rest of Chelsea\u2019s frontline have had no problems this term. Rather, the area that Alonso needs to address is defence.<\/p>\n

Before their 2-2 draw with Hull, Chelsea beat Leeds United 6-3 in the third round of the Carabao Cup. It was an entertaining game, but the Blues are clearly conceding too many chances<\/a> and goals right now.<\/p>\n
