Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson were quite controversial signings for Chelsea in the summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Both Welbeck<\/a> and Henderson<\/a> are in their mid-30s, but that did not stop the club from bringing them in during the transfer window.<\/p>\n

In fact, Chelsea<\/a> were looking for just that: experience. Last season, critics felt their squad was too young, but they have now tried to correct that.<\/p>\n

Chelsea players have warmed to Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson<\/h2>\n

The arrivals of Welbeck and Henderson have seemingly had a positive impact at Cobham.<\/p>\n

According to journalist Simon Phillips on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea<\/a>, the Chelsea players have really taken to both Welbeck and Henderson.<\/p>\n

Welbeck is also on the good side of Chelsea supporters right now after scoring a brace in the Blues\u2019 6-3 win against Leeds United in the third round of the Carabao Cup last week. It was Welbeck\u2019s third goal in a blue shirt, with the striker having also scored in the previous round.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Henderson is yet to make his Chelsea debut, as the midfielder continues to recover from the freak injury he picked up at the World Cup.<\/p>\n

Last month, Steve Bruce praised Chelsea for signing Henderson<\/a>, his former player at Sunderland.<\/p>\n

Xabi Alonso could do with Jordan Henderson right now<\/h2>\n

It is a shame that Henderson is injured, as the 36-year-old could have really helped Chelsea in their recent matches.<\/p>\n

With Moises Caicedo also out injured, midfield has been a huge issue for them this season. Caicedo has not been there to sweep up and protect the defence, while the midfield has really struggled to control games so far.<\/p>\n

Henderson is actually good at doing that, getting on the ball and dictating the tempo of matches. Chelsea\u2019s recent 2-2 draw with Hull City<\/a>, for example, probably would have been less of a NBA game if he had been playing.<\/p>\n

Hopefully Xabi Alonso<\/a> gets both Henderson and Caicedo back soon, as Romeo Lavia and Reece James have not looked convincing as a double midfield pivot.<\/p>\n
