Morgan Rogers has made an immediate impact at Chelsea following his arrival from Aston Villa during the summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In four Premier League games, the attacking midfielder has scored three goals. He has also provided one assist.<\/p>\n

Based on how difficult some of his chances have been, Rogers<\/a> should not really be on three goals.<\/p>\n

Morgan Rogers\u2019 is overperforming his xG at Chelsea<\/h2>\n

Rogers\u2019 goal against Arsenal was barely a chance. The ball came down from the sky and the 24-year-old struck it into David Raya\u2019s bottom corner.<\/p>\n

Considering that, it is not a shock to see that Rogers\u2019 goal tally is actually higher than his xG total. According to WhoScored<\/a>, the Englishman is outperforming his xG by 1.76.<\/p>\n

At Aston Villa, Rogers scored a lot of goals from outside the box, shots that have a very low xG value. Unsurprisingly, then, he also outperformed his xG at Villa Park, a theme that has continued at his new club so far. <\/p>\n

Of course, relying on Rogers to score screamers each game is not sustainable. Xabi Alonso<\/a> cannot just rely on Rogers, Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.<\/p>\n

There are going to be matches where they can only score one or two goals max, like against Hull City and Arsenal. In order for that to be enough, Chelsea<\/a> are going to have to defend better and stop letting in two and three goals a game.<\/p>\n

Until then, supporters are just going to have to sit back and enjoy whatever Rogers, Palmer and Pedro are able to produce.<\/p>\n

Former Chelsea defender Robert Huth recently spoke about Rogers<\/a>, explaining that the England international is more than capable of playing in more than one attacking position if needed.<\/p>\n

So far this season, Rogers and Palmer have been played as left-sided and right-sided 10s behind Pedro.<\/p>\n

Pedro, who has been compared to Karim Benzema<\/a> after his strong start to the season, has really thrived playing alongside Rogers and Palmer.<\/p>\n
