The summer is 2023, and BlueCo are a year into their ownership at Chelsea. Their work in the transfer window is becoming renowned, selling plenty to buy big \u2013 and Ethan Ampadu leaves.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Wales midfielder has just spent the last two seasons on loan at Venezia and Spezia, being relegated twice in two seasons from Serie A. Upon his return, he learns there is no space for him in West London.<\/p>\n

After four loan spells away from the club, he probably realised that. Daniel Farke and Leeds United chose to spend \u00a37m to land the midfielder, and he has sparkled for the Yorkshire side since, now the captain.<\/p>\n

Ampadu is just what Chelsea need, they\u2019ll regret their sale<\/h2>\n

Ampadu\u2019s form rubs salt in the wounds at Stamford Bridge<\/a>, with Chelsea<\/a> lacking a holding midfielder who allows them to gain control of a match. Xabi Alonso was pulling his hair out during Saturday\u2019s 2-2 draw.<\/p>\n

Moises Caicedo\u2019s absence doesn\u2019t help, but Chelsea need a player like Ampadu. One that can play with Caicedo and allow the Ecuadorian to get on the ball. Steel, grit, determination; Ampadu would be ideal.<\/p>\n

If Chelsea were to sign Ampadu, he\u2019d easily cost north of \u00a350m<\/h2>\n

Given the Blues sold him for \u00a37m, the chances of Ampadu returning to Chelsea just when he has found his home at Elland Road<\/a> is unlikely. Especially after signing a new long-term contract with Leeds recently.<\/p>\n

But if Chelsea did look at signing Ampadu \u2013 they considered Gabi Gudmundsson in the summer<\/a> \u2013 he would easily cost north of \u00a350m. Leeds might even request 10 times the figure initially spent to get him.<\/p>\n
