Levi Colwill has not enjoyed the strongest start to the season, although Chelsea fans are worried this could be a longer-term problem for the defender at Stamford Bridge.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The hiring of Xabi Alonso has seen Colwill<\/a> move out to play on the left of a back three, a position which late last season was played by Jorrel Hato.<\/p>\n

The England international has not earned a call-up to the international squad<\/a> for the upcoming Nations League games, and Chelsea\u2019s woeful defensive record will certainly have something to do with that.<\/p>\n

Chelsea fans are worried about Levi Colwill<\/h2>\n

The Blues have conceded at least two goals in every league game so far this season, and Chelsea fans are worried Colwill\u2019s form is a sign of his injury woes catching up with him.<\/p>\n

We asked supporters on TalkingPoints<\/a> for their thoughts on Chelsea\u2019s season so far, and James spoke about how Colwill\u2019s performances so far could be a sign that he will not be able to fulfill his potential at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

The defender missed nearly all of the 2025\/26 season due to injury, and was thrown in for crucial games late in the campaign such as the FA Cup final, although they did not get the result they were hoping for.<\/p>\n

For any player who suffers a serious injury, getting back to full form is always going to take time on the pitch, however for some they are never the same player.<\/p>\n

Chelsea fans are well aware of this. Both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were looking as if they were going to be long-term regulars in the first team squad, however never recovered from their lengthy injury woes<\/p>\n

What are other fans saying about Colwill?<\/h2>\n

While the Chelsea attackers were given plenty of praise by supporters, the defence were not looked on as fondly, with Colwill coming in for criticism.<\/p>\n

While missing out on the England squad will be a short-term blow for Colwill, he will now have three weeks without any action where he is able to continue to work on his fitness, as well as spend some time getting to know what Xabi Alonso is expecting from his defenders.<\/p>\n
