Reece James, Cole Palmer<\/a>, Moises Caicedo, Joao Pedro and Marco Palestra have all had to deal with injury problems during the international break. Palmer has got off to a stunning start at Chelsea this season.<\/p>\n

Since withdrawing from the England squad, Palmer has come in for plenty of criticism. Roy Keane said that Palmer is guilty of \u201cbad habits\u201d<\/a> off the pitch, criticising the decision for Palmer not to play this break.<\/p>\n

Then, there is Alan Shearer, who seemed to forget what he said about Palmer<\/a> at the start of the year. But Chelsea know just how important Palmer is, and that is why the decision was made to withdraw him.<\/p>\n

Danny Welbeck<\/a> has just emphasised that, when asked by ViaPlay<\/a> who has the best first touch in the Chelsea squad. He responded without hesitation that Palmer\u2019s first touch exceeds any of his teammates.<\/p>\n

How many goals and assists can Palmer get this season?<\/h2>\n

Last season, Palmer managed just 11 goals and three assists. This season, the former Man City star has already had a hand in six goals in seven games. Chelsea may play between 45 and 50 games this term.<\/p>\n

It depends how far they go in the Cups, and if Palmer can remain fit. But if Palmer can remain injury free, and continue the level of form he is already showing, the England star could reach 30 goals and assists. <\/p>\n

Should he manage to do that, Palmer will remind all just how effective he is \u2013 including Thomas Tuchel. This is a player that needs to be looked after by Chelsea, and Welbeck\u2019s verdict is proof of that.<\/p>\n
