Newcastle United have told Manchester United that full-back Lewis Hall is not for sale this summer, after an initial enquiry was rejected.<\/p>\n

Manchester United are looking to strengthen at left-back this summer and 21-year-old England international Hall is a player they have long admired.<\/p>\n

But Newcastle turned down their enquiry two weeks ago, and are in the market to add another full-back themselves.<\/p>\n

Hall has three years remaining on his current Newcastle contract.<\/p>\n

Sky Sports News <\/em>has been reporting since March that Hall was among the names being considered by Manchester United for a summer move as they search for a long-term successor to Luke Shaw, who has one year left on his contract.<\/p>\n

Analysis: Is Hall an achievable target for Man Utd?<\/h3>\n

Sky Sports News’ Danyal Khan <\/strong>speaking on ‘A big summer for… Manchester United’<\/a> podcast: <\/em><\/p>\n

“We first reported Hall’s name [as a Man Utd target] in March, and a lot of people raised an eyebrow.<\/p>\n

“People were like, ‘oh, Lewis Hall, that’s never going to happen’. And then, from my perspective, it has shifted a little bit.<\/p>\n

“Hall is someone they really admire, and also actually feels a little bit achievable now this summer because of where Newcastle ended last season. They have no Champions League football to look forward to.<\/p>\n

“You look at Newcastle’s change in manager, the ownership and the players leaving…<\/p>\n

“Newcastle wouldn’t be happy to lose Hall, but I wouldn’t say from a Newcastle perspective that he’s irreplaceable.<\/p>\n

“He was out of the team a little bit in April. From Manchester United’s perspective, with all of these factors, they believe he is an achievable target this summer.”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
