Bayer Leverkusen and England star Jarell Quansah is the latest central defender to be linked with a move to Chelsea.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite signing Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace in the summer, the Blues<\/a> appear to be open to bringing in another centre-back. It was recently reported that Chelsea are interested in Como\u2019s Jacobo Ramon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There are now rumours that Chelsea are also eyeing Quansah<\/a>, who has really impressed for Leverkusen since joining them from Liverpool last year.<\/p>\n

Jordan Henderson is one of Jarell Quansah\u2019s idols<\/h2>\n

A move to Chelsea in January or next summer would see Quansah reunite with Jordan Henderson<\/a>. The England duo were at Liverpool together, and Quansah thinks very highly of his former teammate after working with him.<\/p>\n

Discussing the players he studied to improve his leadership skills, Quansah told Liverpool\u2019s official club website<\/a> in 2025: \u201cJordan is very vocal, has very, very high standards on and off the pitch and he drives that constantly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Henderson\u2019s character is one reason why Chelsea decided to sign the midfielder from Brentford on a free transfer. Last season, their squad lacked experience and leadership, things Henderson has now brought to Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

Henderson is 36 and a former Liverpool captain. He has won the Premier League, Champions League and made almost 500 appearances for Liverpool. It is no wonder that he was such a great role model for Quansah.<\/p>\n

Any move for Quansah, Ramon or another centre-half could have ramifications for Wesley Fofana or Josh Acheampong. One may have to make way for someone to be brought in.<\/p>\n

Many clubs are interested in Acheampong<\/a>, but Chelsea do not want to sell him, making a loan move more likely if Quansah is to arrive. For now, though, it is all speculation.<\/p>\n

The arrival of one new centre-half is unlikely to fix all of Chelsea\u2019s defensive woes anyway. They are conceding so many goals right now that it has to be a structural issue under Alonso<\/a> and not just individual errors. Hopefully there is some improvement after the international break.<\/p>\n
