Xabi Alonso couldn\u2019t say enough about Jordan Henderson after his standout performance against Bournemouth.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jordan Henderson<\/a> rolled back the years in Chelsea\u2019s 5-1 win over Bournemouth, running the game at Stamford Bridge right from the start. He curled in the opener after just 68 seconds, set up Morgan Rogers a minute later, and then wrapped things up with a brilliant 70th-minute free-kick. <\/p>\n

At 36 years and 115 days old, he became the oldest player in Chelsea history to notch three goal involvements in a Premier League match<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Xabi Alonso praises Jordan Henderson\u2019s performance<\/h2>\n

Xabi Alonso<\/a> made no effort to hide his delight after Chelsea\u2019s 5-1 win, raving about Jordan Henderson\u2019s impact when asked if he expected this kind of goalscoring. <\/p>\n

Alonso made it clear that Chelsea brought Henderson in for everything, his leadership, discipline, and game control, so watching him top off a complete performance with two gorgeous goals was a bonus. <\/p>\n

He said: \u201cWe signed him for everything. If he\u2019s able to score two beauties like today, we are more than happy for him. Today was a very complete performance. We were in control for most of the game so I\u2019m happy with that. I\u2019m happy with the game and the performance.\u201d<\/p>\n

And that wasn\u2019t all, as Alonso also talked up the newly-formed partnership involving Moises Caicedo and Henderson, which we may see for the forseeable future judging by his comments: <\/p>\n

\u201cIn terms of the positioning, they help each other well. They give presence, they give stability as well. They are going to be the ones that are helping the rest of the players. As well, defensively, they give good balance. It\u2019s fundamental we get that area strong.\u201d<\/p>\n

Caicedo played just over an hour for the Blues before being taken off, but it was pre-planned, so there\u2019s no reason to worry for Chelsea fans. <\/p>\n
