Chelsea landed a couple of bargains during the summer transfer window, and Barcelona\u2019s Jules Kounde could be their next.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In August, the Blues<\/a> signed Jordan Henderson from Brentford on a free transfer, while they were also able to purchase Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa for just \u00a37.5m a few weeks later. The pair are two very experienced Premier League players who are already making an impact at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

In fact, Henderson has even made history at Chelsea<\/a> after scoring two goals and providing an assist in Saturday\u2019s 5-1 win over Bournemouth. The 36-year-old is now the oldest player in Chelsea history to come up with three goal contributions in a single Premier League match.<\/p>\n

Chelsea supporters should not be expecting too many braces from Kounde<\/a> if he finally ends up moving to Stamford Bridge, but the defender could still prove to be another bargain for the Blues. Chelsea are interested in Kounde<\/a> once again and may be able to get him for a very good fee.<\/p>\n

According to Sport<\/a>, Barcelona are expected to demand at least \u20ac50m (\u00a342m) for Kounde, which is not that much in this day and age and considering the player in question. Even if Barcelona are willing to get rid of him, he is still a very valuable footballer.<\/p>\n

First of all, Kounde is a versatile defender. The Frenchman can play as a right-back or centre-back. He is very right-sided, meaning he could slot in perfectly on the right of Xabi Alonso\u2019s<\/a> back three.<\/p>\n

Kounde has the pace to cope in that right channel and the know-how to deal with the Premier League\u2019s top attackers. At 27 and having played for Barcelona and France, he has plenty of experience at the very elite level of football.<\/p>\n

If signing Kounde would block Josh Acheampong\u2019s pathway, Chelsea should think twice before making a move for the France international. Acheampong is playing well right now and seems content with life under Alonso.<\/p>\n

However, Kounde could be an upgrade on Wesley Fofana, who has not lived up to the hype at Chelsea. Replacing him with his compatriot seems like a no-brainer.<\/p>\n
