It is fair to say that former England footballer Ashley Young is really impressed with one particular piece of business Chelsea have done in this transfer window.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As they so often do, Chelsea<\/a> have dominated the headlines this summer after signing Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for a club-record \u00a3117m fee.<\/p>\n

Their decision to bring in Danny Welbeck<\/a> and Jordan Henderson has also caused a lot of debate, with both players now in their mid-30s. <\/p>\n

Ashley Young gives Danny Welbeck an 11 out of 10<\/h2>\n

While some have questioned Chelsea for signing Welbeck and Henderson, Young has backed their decision to add the former to their squad.<\/p>\n

In a video posted by TSR Football on TikTok<\/a>, Young was asked to rate Welbeck\u2019s move to Chelsea out of 10. In response, the ex-winger said: \u201c11 out of 10. I didn\u2019t want him to go Chelsea, of course, but he\u2019s one of my best mates in football. I\u2019m delighted for him, a lot will be spoken about his age, but if you can get up and down the pitch, age means nothing. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m delighted for him. I know he\u2019s going to go there and do well. A lot will be said about him leaving Brighton, but I\u2019m sure he\u2019ll say the reasons he left and it will be justified as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

John Terry gave his own reaction to Chelsea signing Welbeck<\/a>, joking that the 35-year-old will not be able to score against the Blues any more.<\/p>\n

Welbeck has a good recent record against Chelsea, netting in both of Brighton & Hove Albion\u2019s games versus the Club World Cup<\/a> holders last season.<\/p>\n

With Joao Pedro being the first-choice striker, Welbeck will not be expected to start too many matches in the new campaign. However, he could still prove to be a good addition to Xabi Alonso\u2019s<\/a> squad.<\/p>\n

We are giving Welbeck a solid 7\/10<\/strong>. Despite what some critics have to say, it is a smart signing.<\/p>\n

Welbeck cost very little<\/a> and is going to add some much-needed experience to the squad. Most importantly, though, he still has something to offer on the pitch.<\/p>\n

In total, the former England star scored 13 goals in 37 Premier League<\/a> outings last term. That is more than what Cole Palmer managed!<\/p>\n

Welbeck is far from finished and could be a very important squad player for Alonso in the new season. The same goes for Henderson, who should also be a positive influence inside the dressing room.<\/p>\n
