Chelsea are going to have to spend a significant amount of the rest of their transfer budget if they want to sign Arsenal\u2019s Martin Zubimendi this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Blues manager Xabi Alonso has recommended signing Zubimendi<\/a> as a new midfielder this summer, with there very little security over the position at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

Enzo Fernandez<\/a> has currently not given any assurances over him staying at the club for next season, leaving Alonso in a bit of a limbo when it comes to what his midfield will look like.<\/p>\n

Arsenal want \u00a368m for Chelsea target Martin Zubimendi<\/h2>\n

The two crossed paths at Real Sociedad, and the current midfielder\u2019s strong season at Arsenal is a clear reason why the Blues boss will want him.<\/p>\n

However, Latigo Serrano<\/a> has stated that Arsenal\u2019s desire to make a profit on Zubimendi will mean Chelsea<\/a> will have to pay in the region of \u20ac80m, which works out as around \u00a368m.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cArsenal paid \u20ac60 million for Zubimendi last year, and naturally they wanted to make a profit on him.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn other words, Arsenal wouldn\u2019t have allowed Zubimendi to leave \u2014 and won\u2019t allow him to leave if someone wants him during the remaining three weeks of the summer transfer window \u2014 for less than \u20ac80 million.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s because they believe transfer prices have exploded this summer. There\u2019s been huge inflation around midfielders in particular, with the amounts spent on players such as Elliot Anderson, Mateus Fernandes, Tonali and Bruno Guimar\u00e3es.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd with Rodri\u2019s transfer to Barcelona also expected to happen, Arsenal\u2019s argument is essentially: \u201cWe paid \u20ac60 million for this player a year ago, and if the price of midfielders has increased by 30%, then the value of our midfielder has increased by 30% too.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter that he didn\u2019t finish the season as a starter \u2014 at the very least, they want that same 30% increase. That\u2019s why Arsenal were asking for \u20ac80 million.\u201d<\/p>\n

As well as Zubimendi, talk over signing Myles Lewis-Skelly has ramped up again following reports that Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign him.<\/p>\n

The Arsenal youngster has been on Chelsea\u2019s radar for a while now as a player they are intrigued about signing.<\/p>\n

His versatility would make Lewis-Skelly one of the signings of the summer<\/a> as far as Chelsea are concerned, and one they should target instead of Zubimendi.<\/p>\n
