Morgan Rogers speaks out on Declan Rice feud ahead of England break
Morgan Rogers has cleared the air over his heated London derby clash with Declan Rice.
Things got heated during Chelsea’s defeat at Arsenal when Declan Rice subtly tripped Morgan Rogers on a counter. The referee missed it completely, which set Rogers off, as he popped right back up, shoved Rice, and ended up in the referee’s book while the home crowd gave him earfuls.
Both earned call-ups to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad soon after, but Rice has since withdrawn.

However, it doesn’t look as if there are any lingering issues, as Morgan Rogers has opened up on the incident and how he’s now resolved the situation with Rice.
“It is just competitors competing and wanting to win. London derby, me getting absolutely dog’s abuse by the fans doesn’t help. All emotions come into one at that moment, but Dec and I are fine.”
“We spoke about it after the game. We’re completely fine. It’s just one of those things in football: we want to win. That’s actually a good thing — showing that we put friendships and everything aside and just want to win for our clubs and do what it takes. Sometimes tempers rise a little bit but it’s all good.”
England predicted XI to face Spain
With Cole Palmer withdrawing from international duty, it opens the opportunity for Morgan Rogers to start centrally for England against Spain.
Tuchel said: “I am told he is playing with discomfort and pain, and he cannot compete at the highest level with discomfort and pain. So he withdrew and informed us. Chelsea informed us.”
Declan Rice, Marcus Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo and Tino Livramento have also withdrawn, so it’s quite a depleted England squad to kick off the Nations League campaign.
