After Saturday’s stunning 5-1 win over Bournemouth, Chelsea now face a tricky trip to Everton in which Xabi Alonso will look to end his side’s hoodoo. With Morgan Rogers, Chelsea have a chance.

Chelsea have won just one of their last eight away games against Everton, losing six times. A dismal run of results against David Moyes’ side that Alonso has got to put right when Chelsea go to Merseyside.

Interestingly, Everton and Chelsea have both won 10 points from their first six league games this season. Everton have quietly climbed into fifth, remaining unbeaten this season, winning two and drawing four.

Despite two Premier League defeats, Chelsea also have 10 points after three wins and a draw from their first six. Morgan Rogers, meanwhile, has the chance to make Chelsea history in just his ninth appearance.

Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata’s nine-in-nine Chelsea records

As things stand, Rogers has eight goals and assists in his first eight Chelsea appearances. The club-record signing from Aston Villa has scored four goals, all coming in the Premier League, and then four assists.

How would you compare Chelsea’s sporting directors to their counterparts at other English clubs? Have they really been that bad? 🤔

Rogers netted his fourth league goal on Saturday, scoring Chelsea’s second in the 5-1 win over Marco Rose’s Cherries. He has also got one assist in the league, and three assists against Leeds in the Cup.

Eight in eight for Rogers. Only two Chelsea players have managed nine goal involvements in their first nine games for Chelsea: in Costa, who scored nine goals, and Morata [seven goals, two assists].

Rogers then has the chance to make Chelsea history when gaffer Alonso returns to Merseyside. If he can get two goal involvements on Saturday, he will become the first Chelsea player to reach 10 in nine games.

The quickest to 10 involvements: Where does Cole Palmer rank?

It might surprise Chelsea fans, or some Chelsea fans may remember, that Frank Lampard only managed one goal in his first nine outings. It came against Levski Sofia, with Lampard initially struggling for form.

Cole Palmer, meanwhile, managed seven goals and assists in his first nine outings for Chelsea. Rogers has already outdone Palmer then, in his first eight matches and has one game to reach the magical 10.
