What ‘frustrated’ Cole Palmer is really thinking about his long-term future at Chelsea
Chelsea fans are hopeful that their long-term future will see Cole Palmer remain as a key part of their first team squad, and it looks as if his intentions match their desires.
Palmer has been Chelsea’s most important player since he joined the club from Manchester City back in 2023, and now looks back to his best after spending a prolonged period of time playing through a groin injury.
Despite an excellent start to the season at Stamford Bridge, Palmer has had to withdraw from the England squad for the upcoming Nations League games. It was his first call-up since being left out of Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad.
Cole Palmer committed to long future at Chelsea
This has left Palmer ‘frustrated’ according to Dean Jones, however no less committed to his future in West London as a Chelsea player.
In fact, the journalist told Ranks FC that he wants to stay at Chelsea as he pushes to make the England squad for the upcoming European Championships in 2028.
He said: “I’m told that Cole Palmer’s a little bit frustrated that he’s not there because he understands that he has to be cautious, but he does want to bounce back on that scene. And, you know, there’s been a lot of question marks for Cole Palmer around his commitment when he was linked to Man United.
“And also, would he be fired up to return for England? And I’m told that he really is dedicated to both. He wants to stay at Chelsea and do well for Chelsea and he wants to make sure that he’s at Euro 2028 with England.”

Blues supporters are really excited about the attack their club has put together, with the combination of Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Joao Pedro already all chipping in with goals and assists.
Palmer will no doubt be buoyed that the club signed his best friend, allowing them to achieve their lifelong dream of playing alongside each other in the Premier League.
His excellent start to life at Chelsea saw him rewarded with a new contract which saw him commit his future to the club until 2033. This puts the Blues in an excellent negotiation position if any club did come in for their star man.
