Pedro Neto played 81 minutes in Portugal’s clash with Denmark.

It’s safe to say that Pedro Neto‘s Chelsea career has been a total mixed bag so far, showing quick bursts of brilliance mixed with some really quiet games.

You can see the talent he put in quality shifts against Brighton and Leeds, getting on the scoresheet and looking like a real threat every time he drove forward. But the issue is consistency. In matches like the loss to Brentford or the draw with Hull, he drifted out of the game entirely and barely made a dent.

Chelsea fans know the ability is there, but he needs to produce it week in, week out.

Pedro Neto was non-stop energy against Denmark, but the final product just wasn’t there. He was constantly looking to get involved, finishing with 44 touches, completing 83% of his passes, and setting up four chances for his teammates.

But when it came to making things count, he fell flat. Neither of his two shots hit the target, he won just one of his four dribbles, and four of his five crosses got cut out.

Portugal media outlet A Bola echoed that, giving him a 5/10 for his performance.

‘At 64′ he risked shooting to save Hermansen, before just another record, at 22′, crossing for Rafael Leao to force the goalkeeper to another intervention.’

Chelsea fans were full of praise for Pedro Neto in the clash with Norway a matter of days ago, so perhaps it was just a bit of an off night for the winger.

The remaining game of this international break for Portugal comes on the 4th of October, with the return fixture against Erling Haaland and his Norwegian side.
