Xabi Alonso receives double fitness boost ahead of Chelsea vs Bournemouth
Chelsea take on Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge this Saturday when the Premier League returns.
During the international break, Joao Pedro has visited a specialist to help him with his injury, but the Bournemouth game could come too soon for the striker. Moises Caicedo also remains a doubt for the Blues, which is more bad news.
However, Xabi Alonso could be set to welcome back one of his new signings, while there has also been a positive update regarding Cole Palmer.

Cole Palmer and Marco Palestra could both feature against Bournemouth
Marco Palestra has not played any competitive matches for Chelsea following his arrival from Atalanta during the summer because of injury. Palmer has but withdrew from the England squad because of his own fitness troubles.
Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, though, that Palestra’s recovery is going well and that the wing-back should be available for Saturday.
As for Palmer, despite missing all of England’s games during this international break, he is also expected to be in the matchday squad for the Bournemouth match. With Pedro a doubt, Chelsea going into this game without Palmer would be very worrying.
The Blues are not the only ones with injury problems right now. Their target and Bournemouth’s star midfielder Alex Scott has also picked up an injury, meaning that he will not be making the trip to Stamford Bridge.
