Chelsea are looking to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat to Brentford just before the international break when they take on Bournemouth this Saturday.

Xabi Alonso’s side cannot be any worse than they were at the Gtech Community Stadium. They have had a bit of good news, too, going into the game.

Chelsea needed this break BADLY… but with so many players racking up minutes for their countries, did it actually help them or could it have made things worse? 🤔

Let us know your reasoning! 👇

Cole Palmer is expected to be fit after missing the international break. However, Chelsea fans should not be too optimistic just yet.

Bournemouth’s visit to Stamford Bridge is going to be officiated by Samuel Barrott, and Chelsea do not seem to perform too well when he is around. Their last match that Barrott took charge of was a 3-0 loss to Everton in March.

Before that, Barrott also refereed Chelsea’s last meeting with Bournemouth, which ended 2-2 at Stamford Bridge. In total, he has taken charge of five Chelsea matches, with the Blues only managing to win one of them.

They beat West Ham United 3-0 in 2024 but lost to west London rivals Fulham and Middlesbrough in the other two games he officiated the same year. Hopefully, they have a much better time on Saturday.

Bournemouth will be just as desperate as Chelsea to win, as they currently find themselves sitting in 17th place in the Premier League table. But the Cherries will be without key midfielder and Chelsea target Alex Scott, who picked up a bad injury while on international duty with England.
