Morgan Rogers is proving to be Chelsea’s best piece of business from the summer transfer window.

In just six Premier League games, the attacking midfielder has already scored four goals and provided one assist. Jordan Henderson stole the headlines at the weekend after bagging a brace in Chelsea’s 5-1 win over Bournemouth.

It was a game where Rogers was also able to impress, though. The 24-year-old scored in the third minute, just one minute after Henderson’s stunning opener.

His output has been good this season, but Rogers is doing more than just scoring goals. Defenders are having a tough time trying to take the ball away from him.

Jordan Henderson starred in Chelsea’s win over Bournemouth, but who is the club’s greatest-ever free transfer? 🤔

Gradient Sports can measure an attacker’s ability to evade oncoming tackles and pressures that are initiated by a defender by using their tackle resistance grade metric. Rogers has a grade of 85.1, which is the second highest in the Premier League!

Only Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has a higher tackle resistance grade (85.2) this season, showing just how effective Rogers has been at dodging tackles. Arsenal wanted Rogers in the summer before his move to Chelsea. What a winger combo that could have been!

Thankfully, Chelsea won the race for the England international, who is easily one of the best attacking players in the Premier League. The Gunners were also linked with Joao Pedro, another Chelsea star who is doing well statistically this term.

As a matter of fact, Pedro is the highest-rated Premier League player on WhoScored. Add Cole Palmer to the mix, and you are probably looking at the best forward line in England.

They are going to have to be as creative as possible when they make the trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium this weekend. Everton are likely to play in a low block, as they often do against Chelsea, and that is not easy to break down.
