What Chelsea have told Cole Palmer to do after leaving ground following fan incident
No one could criticise Cole Palmer for his performance in Chelsea’s 5-1 win against Bournemouth over the weekend.
Palmer was unable to get his name on the scoresheet, but the attacking midfielder still had a good game. He assisted one of the goals and managed to create a few chances.
However, what Palmer has been criticised for is an interaction, or rather a lack of interaction, with a young supporter after the match. A video has emerged of the Englishman walking past and ignoring the young fan and others after making his way out of Stamford Bridge.
Palmer has been criticised for it, but it appears that he was only following Chelsea’s safety protocols.

Journalist Simon Phillips has revealed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that the club have advised their players not to stop and sign autographs or even talk to supporters when they are leaving Stamford Bridge on foot and without security.
All in all, too much has been made of this incident, if you can even call it that. Some seem determined to paint Palmer out as a character he is simply not.
Chelsea fans will get more opportunities to chase Palmer outside Stamford Bridge, as he will not be leaving west London any time soon. Palmer recently signed a new contract with the Blues, which will take his stay at the Bridge into 2034.
It is great news for the club, as the England international is one of the best attackers in the Premier League. His form did dip last season, but he is slowly returning to his best.
Out of Chelsea’s brilliant attack, Joao Pedro is probably the most in-form player, with the Brazilian scoring twice in the victory over Bournemouth. But Palmer and Morgan Rogers will also be threats this Saturday when the Blues take on Everton.
