Chelsea squad numbers on full show during Real Sociedad friendly

Before the game it was noted that Valentin Barco had taken the number four shirt from Tosin Adarabioyo amid uncertainty over his future.

But that wasn’t the only change, as players who have left Chelsea, like Marc Cucurella and Trevoh Chalobah‘s shirt numbers have already been taken.

The squad reshuffle sees Marco Palestra taking over the #2 shirt previously held by Axel Disasi, while Wesley Fofana moves into the #3 spot formerly worn by Marc Cucurella.

Valentin Barco steps into Tosin Adarabioyo’s old #4 kit, and Max Lacroix takes on the #5 shirt from Benoit Badiashile. Down the line, Dario Essugo claims Lesley Ugochukwu’s #16, Morgan Rogers takes Andrey Santos’ #17, and Geovany Quenda picks up Trevoh Chalobah’s former #23.

Rounding out the changes, Pep Chavarria slides into the #29 shirt previously assigned to Fofana, and Mike Penders adopts the #39 kit from Mathis Amougou.

Of course, the official shirt numbers haven’t been announced yet, so there could still be change.
