Omari Kellyman has joined the Ligue 1 club on a permanent basis, after he spent last season on loan at Cardiff City.

Chelsea have included a buy-back clause in that deal, meaning if he progresses to become a top-quality player they have the right to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.

Kellyman didn’t feature for the first team at any stage during his tenure here, however he did struggle greatly with various injury problems.

Chelsea made a significant loss on Kellyman, however it has to be said that signing him also saw Ian Maatsen make the move the other way for a fee of around £40m.

It remains to be seen if he develops into a player who Chelsea will want in their first team squad in the future, but at least the club have put themselves in a position where they can pounce first.

They were unable to do this with Moreira, but at least it looks like the club have learned their lesson when it comes to not including the appropriate clauses.
