Tottenham considering late move for Chelsea’s Malo Gusto

Spurs are seemingly not done in the market though, and may be about to turn to Stamford Bridge to try and solve their woes.

As per Simon Phillips, the North London club are considering making a late move to sign Malo Gusto, who has started both games for Chelsea so far this season.

He said on his Substack: “Spurs are looking into Gusto as well is another late shout I’ve had. Honestly, it’s going to be a NUTS two days now guys and I just can’t call where it’s going and how it will end up. So much can still happen.”

The Frenchman has impressed Xabi Alonso since he returned from the World Cup, and proved his worth with a fantastic assist for Danny Welbeck’s first Chelsea goal.

He has started the season at right wing-back, a position which could be reclaimed by Marco Palestra when he returns from injury.

Chelsea want £75m for Gusto

Chelsea also have the option to play Pedro Neto at wing-back should he remain at the club. There has been strong interest from Saudi Arabia in bringing him in this summer.

The Blues would likely not be too keen to strengthen one of their rivals late in the transfer window, although would likely to be happy to receive the transfer fee they are hoping for.

Chelsea set a £75m price tag on Gusto earlier in the transfer window, and given he looks part of Alonso’s plans for the 2026/27 season.
