Out of nowhere, Chelsea have just agreed a £13.75m sale alongside Enzo Fernandez
Enzo Fernandez looks like he is finally heading to Manchester City after Chelsea agreed a British record fee of £125m. But the Blues look set to make another late sale alongside Fernandez.
Deadline day has been one of drama for Chelsea once again, with five hours still to go. Mykhailo Mudryk and Tosin Adarabioyo are expected to join Spurs, which could see Chelsea earn a huge £82m combined.
The Enzo Fernandez saga is over! What do you make of this deal?
A big fee, but not much time to get something done ourselves…
Marc Guiu remains the only confirmed sale on deadline day, completing a £14.5m move to RB Leipzig. The Spaniard has been handed the no.9 shirt and will face Trevoh Chalobah’s Como on September 10.
But the last few hours look busy, with plenty of departures expected and a midfielder likely to come in as a replacement. Lamine Camara remains the likeliest signing, but another departure is now incoming.
Chelsea agree permanent sale of outcast Deivid Washington
Bought for £17m back in the summer of 2023, Washington has found it difficult on Chelsea’s books. Fans can count his senior appearances for Chelsea on one hand, and his loan return to Santos didn’t work.
However, he remains young and a player with plenty of potential. Reports said Strasbourg, Marseille and Sevilla were all interested in signing the Brazilian attacker, and now Edu Bargos has news on Washington.

The South American reporter claims Chelsea are set to sell Washington to BlueCo side Strasbourg on a permanent basis, for £13.75m: “EXC. David Washington signs with Strasbourg, contract signed until 2031.
“Chelsea will receive €16m [£13.75m] for his transfer, in addition to retaining a buy-back option and a percentage of future sales. Despite interest from Sevilla, he will stay in Ligue 1 this season,” Burgos said.
How many players have Chelsea now sold this summer?
Going into deadline day, Chelsea had sold nine players: Marc Cucurella, Nicolas Jackson, Andrey Santos, Liam Delap, Trevoh Chalobah, Tyrique George, David Fofana, Omari Kellyman and Jimmy-Jay Morgan.
DEADLINE DAY: Who do you want Chelsea to sign before the 11pm deadline?
Chelsea are in the market for a midfielder…
Today, they could take that total to 13. Tosin’s move to Spurs is a permanent one, Fernandez is now set for City, and Washington is set to join BlueCo’s other club. Chelsea will surpass £400m in player sales.
Given Chelsea have spent a similar amount on their new recruits after the arrival of Emi Martinez, it has to be said that’s stunning business from BlueCo and Behdad Eghbali – even if their approach is unpopular.
