Chelsea were holding out for more than £120m from Manchester City for Enzo Fernandez, and have got their wish with just over six hours remaining in the transfer window.

Fernandez has not been seen in a matchday squad at Stamford Bridge since the opening day against Fulham, where some Chelsea fans continued to boo their own player.

This was because of the Argentine’s public desire to leave the club, with Man City the club he had the best chance of joining this summer.

Man City agree £125m deal to sign Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea

Chelsea made it clear they were not going to accept an offer of lower than £120m for the midfielder, however late on deadline day an agreement has now been reached.

As per David Ornstein, City and Chelsea have agreed a deal for Fernandez to depart, with his move set to be worth £125m.

This makes him the joint most-expensive player in Premier League history, and sees the Blues make a significant profit on the 25-year-old.

The pressure is now on Chelsea late in the transfer window to bring in a replacement for Fernandez, with time ticking until the window shuts at 11pm.

Manu Kone and Lamine Camara have emerged as leading candidates for the Blues, although neither will cost near what they are set to receive for the Argentina international.
