Update on Lamine Camara’s price tag after Chelsea missed out on deadline day signing
If Chelsea want to return to try and sign Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, they are going to have to pay more than the agreed fee on deadline day.
The Blues established Camara was the best late replacement available for Enzo Fernandez, who made his move to Manchester City official very late in the window.
Despite having a deal agreed for Camara, Monaco pulled the plug late on and he ended up staying with the Ligue 1 side, leaving Chelsea short in the midfield position.

Chelsea target Lamine Camara’s price has gone up
Chelsea had reportedly agreed a £47m deal for him on deadline day, however Ben Jacobs has stated that Monaco would now be wanting around £60m to part ways with him in a future window.
He said on Market Madness: “Camara on deadline day, when a rejected offer of 50 million came in, so not the 55 million euros that was accepted, when a rejected 50 million euros offer came in, the player said he wanted to leave, the player said that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and the player said that he wanted to join Chelsea.
“And that part’s kind of been missed out of the narrative. But now the deal is off, and Chelsea are angry, and Monaco are back up to a valuation of 70 million euros.
“It’s going to be very difficult for that deal to happen to Stamford Bridge, unless Monaco come down. And it’s almost like if Monaco want to sell to Chelsea, Chelsea will likely want a lower deal to compensate them for the fact that Monaco messed them around on Deadline Day. At least that’s Chelsea’s perspective anyway.”
Chelsea fuming with Monaco
Behdad Eghbali was leading the deal to sign Camara, and was rightfully fuming that Monaco had failed to do business with them in a suitable manner.
This has reportedly seen Chelsea and Monaco’s relationship deteriorate, with the Blues considering other midfielders when the transfer window opens again.
Alex Scott was one of the club’s top targets throughout the summer transfer window, however Bournemouth rejected a number of bids for his services.
Chelsea are considering getting a pre-agreed deal in place for him to join the club next summer, which would see them beat any of their competitors to the signing.
