Five things learned from Chelsea’s draw vs Hull with one starter now needing to be dropped
There was more excitement at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon after Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Hull City in the Premier League.
During the week, Chelsea and Leeds United played out a 6-3 thriller, with the Blues coming out as victors.

Chelsea’s midfield and defence have crumbled in Moises Caicedo’s absence
Chelsea’s midfield has been non-existent without Moises Caicedo. It is bypassed so easily, and once Hull and the Blues’ previous opponents have got to their box, the defending has not been good enough.
With a defensive midfielder of Caicedo’s quality in the side, you cannot help but feel that Chelsea would be a bit more solid.
Jorrel Hato could lose his spot to Pep Chavarria
Pep Chavarria impressed against Leeds and was probably quite unfortunate to be dropped for Jorrel Hato.
Hato was at fault for Hull’s first goal, though Malo Gusto’s defending was not great either.

On the subject of Gusto, to be blunt, he should not be anywhere near Chelsea’s starting XI right now.
On the ball, the Frenchman has been poor, while his defending has also been far from convincing. It was no different against Hull, and it is now time for him to be dropped.
Morgan Rogers is comfortable on the left
Many questioned where Morgan Rogers was going to play when Chelsea signed him during the summer.
There was this perception that Rogers could only play right behind the striker despite the 24-year-old playing a lot of games out wide at Villa.
At Chelsea so far, Rogers has had no issues playing on the left flank and in the left half-space. He proved that once again against Hull, scoring another early goal for his new side.
Emiliano Martinez needs to find more consistency during games
Emiliano Martinez had a pretty mixed game. The Argentine made some good catches in the air, but he also spilled the ball a few times.
Chelsea’s defence is not settled at the moment, and inconsistent goalkeeping will not help the Blues.
