Morgan Rogers joins elite Chelsea group with Eden Hazard in draw vs Hull City
Chelsea will be disappointed to drop points to Hull City in the Premier League today, however there is a slight silver lining in the form of Morgan Rogers’ excellent start to the season continuing.
Rogers opened the scoring for the Blues early on again, and all signs were pointing towards things being routine for the free-scoring attacking trio.
However, Hull found themselves good value for a lead at the break, and Joao Pedro’s second half goal could only rescue a point for the Blues.
Dropped points against Hull… Does Xabi Alonso need to make some serious changes?
Who would you drop from today’s XI?
Morgan Rogers becomes fifth Chelsea player to score or assist in first four games of season
The front three continue to be let down by a shaky backline at Stamford Bridge, especially Rogers who moved to four Premier League goal involvements in his first four games since his club-record transfer.
He has at least one goal or assist in every league game this season, a feat which has only been achieved at this stage of the season rarely in Chelsea’s history.
In fact, Rogers is just the fifth player to contribute to a goal in the first four games of the season, after Didier Drogba, Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard.
If the England international can have anywhere near as successful a career at Stamford Bridge as those players, he will be seen as money well spent when it’s all said and done.

The overriding feeling from today is frustration though, with Chelsea’s nightmare run against newly-promoted sides at home continuing.
The Blues have now conceded nine goals in four games this season, and eventually their free-flowing attack was not going to bail them out.
This has to be the catalyst for Xabi Alonso to consider serious changes to the side, both in midfield and defence, with Maxence Lacroix’s absence being felt today.
Rogers meanwhile will be looking to keep his excellent run of form up when he lines up on Friday night against Brentford away from home.
