Thomas Tuchel may actually be helping Chelsea sign one of their key midfield targets
Chelsea’s efforts to convince their key transfer target to join them may be getting a boost from former manager and England boss, Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel called up current Blues Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer to his squad for the upcoming Nations League matches, however Palmer has since withdrawn to manage his fitness at this early stage of the season.
The German did Chelsea a favour by leaving out Reece James and Levi Colwill, with both still waiting to get back to full fitness.

Thomas Tuchel is helping Chelsea sign Adam Wharton
Of all the other players to be left out of the Three Lions’ squad, Adam Wharton is one of the highlight names. He has started the season very well individually, even if Crystal Palace have struggled.
The midfielder has been at the top of Chelsea’s transfer shortlist for a new signing to come into the club, however the London club have so far priced him out of any move away from them.
However, Wharton consistently being overlooked may make him believe that a move to a top club is the only way he can earn himself regular call-ups to represent his country.
The Englishman starting to make a scene and force his way out of Palace is the best chance Chelsea have of being able to work on official talks with their Premier League rivals, who they have formed a strong relationship with in recent years.

The Blues signed Maxence Lacroix this summer, whilst allowing Axel Disasi and future star Honest Ahanour to join them on loan for this season.
Their latest efforts could be getting an inadvertent boost from Tuchel on this one, with Wharton currently slipping behind the likes of Alex Scott and Kobbie Mainoo in the pecking order.
Scott is another who is on Chelsea’s radar, and Wharton will be aware that he doesn’t want to fall behind when it comes to securing a move to a top side, as well as representing his country.
With the European Championships less than two years away, he cannot afford to keep missing out on squads, and needs to force a move to a top side. This is where Chelsea can strike.
