Real Madrid fans wish Chelsea had signed their player in the summer amid new reports
Chelsea’s transfer team are quite clearly planning for the January transfer window, with multiple defensive targets linked during the international break. Real Madrid fans have responded.
Since the 3-0 hammering at Brentford, it is quite clear that Chelsea require improvement at the back. Whether that be tactically, on the training pitch, or in the transfer market remains to be seen.
But Chelsea are busy working behind the scenes to identify a handful of defensive targets ahead of the January window, including Jacobo Ramon, Abdukodir Khusanov and England defender Tyrick Mitchell.
Real Madrid fans wished Raul Asencio was sold in the summer
Another defender being linked with Chelsea in the past few days is Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio. It is claimed that the Spanish giants received offers from Chelsea, Liverpool and a cash-rich Turkish club.
Amid the reports, Real Madrid fans have taken to social media to discuss Asencio leaving the Santiago Bernabeu and many wish that the 22-year-old has joined the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool or elsewhere.
Some were stunned that Chelsea and Liverpool were considering the player, with many believing he is simply not good enough: “Football is really dying if Liverpool and Chelsea actually went for the dude.”

“Stop the propaganda” was another Real Madrid fan’s response, while one described the defender, who has played 80 times for Madrid’s senior side, as “completely useless”. Others wished he had left.
“Chelsea needs a defender, and Asencio could be huge for them”, was one fan’s verdict. Another hoped a deal is still possible, commenting, “you have to go” in response to posts reporting Chelsea’s interest.
Another told Florentino Perez to sell Asencio, posting: “Perez get rid”. Clearly, Madrid fans don’t rate the defender that highly and would like to see him sold, instead of representing the club once again.
Jose Mourinho unlikely to sell to Chelsea
There are two reasons for that. Remarkably, Jose Mourinho has never actually sold a player to Chelsea despite his extensive CV of different clubs, aside from his two spells as manager at Stamford Bridge.
That, and Chelsea had already sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid. It wouldn’t make much sense for Madrid to sell a defender to Chelsea, having just signed a defender from the Blues. Interest may remain.
