Despite plenty of minutes coming to him at left-back, central midfield is the position the 19-year-old prefers to play, starting there in the Champions League final against PSG.
The Blues are still looking for a midfielder to replace the minutes of Andrey Santos. Jordan Henderson has been signed mostly for his experience and leadership in the dressing room.

The youngster completed more than 90% of his passes in the Premier League last season, a percentage higher than Enzo Fernandez, who also has a big question mark over his future at Stamford Bridge.
The Argentina international has been pushing for a move away from West London this summer, however so far has not seen a suitor turn up with a suitable offer.
Lewis-Skelly’s ability to drive forward with the ball is something that can be a great strength to Chelsea too. He completed 80% of his dribbles last season.
