Chelsea originally thought both Morgan Rogers and Estevao Willian would start together

While it has been one or the other for now at Stamford Bridge, the original plan was for them both to feature in ‘one of the most exciting attacks in football’.

Simon Johnson told ‘Straight outta Cobham’ that over the summer Estevao was in the plans to be in the starting attack, however is no longer amongst Rogers, Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.

He said: “I was told during the summer that the excitement when Morgan Rogers was signed was that it’d be a sort of, one of the most exciting attacks in football with Rogers, Palmer, Joao Pedro and Estevao. Unfortunately, Estevao’s name is no longer on that list. The other three are.”

So far, there have been no reports of unhappiness from Estevao regarding his personal situation, despite the fact it is clear he is not in the club’s best XI right now.
